But now, it's so close. No more moving, no more army, no more reasons not to do it. We are planning on buying a home soon after we move home and we are hoping to get something that we can stay in until the kids are gone. I've fallen in love with a few, so has Doc. His are all 100 year old farm houses or others that will need a lot of up keep, mine are more reasonable colonial style homes like those in which we grew up.
I know it's not smart to look now, any house that is still on the market by the time we get home is probably not a home we want. I just need to stop.

That is a beautiful house. We recently just bought our "forever" house. I know how it can consume your mind.
ReplyDeleteIt's totally natural to dream about buying a house together and settling down. I think it's a common dream for Army Wives. My husband has 6 more years in the Army. We continually talk about the home we will buy together once he gets out. We talk about where and what city every once in a while. ReplyDeleteWe totally look at floorplans and lots for homes that will have been built years before we are actually back here to live in them. It's always good to have something to look forward to... especially when you are in limbo.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous house! I would take that one in a heartbeat. We just started looking last night after Mike found out he got the job. It is so exciting! We plan to buy over the summer, in about 6 months. I'm going to be watching a whole lot of HGTV in the meantime! It really is addicting. I've moved SO many times between my dysfunctional childhood and army life, I just can't wait to be in our forever home.
